AzETA held its 13th Regional Conference of Teachers at School #1 in Goygol on Saturday, 17 March 2018. The aim of the Conference was to bring together teachers from the neighbouring regions and AzETA Branches to share experiences, views and new trends in education, challenges teachers daily face in their teaching.

The Conference started with the presentation of Saadet Hasanova, AzETA Goygol Branch on the activities of the Branch since its establishment. Her presentation was followed by the the opening remarks by Ragsana Mammadova, AzETA Founder and President. She highlighted the importance of conferences in the regions and emphasized that AzETA’s main focus is on professional

development of regional teachers who have limited opportunities for such development. Salman Balakishiyev, Deputy Head of Goygol Education Department made opening remarks and thanked AzETA for hosting such an important event in Goygol and wished best luck to the work of the Conference.

Afet Elekberova of Goygol Education Department also made opening remarks and mentioned about the initiatives made by Goygol Education Department towards professional development of the teachers of the region. She also highlighted the importance of such conferences for the teachers in the region and thanked AzETA for hosting the Conference in Goygol.

The plenary speaker of the Conference was Dr Erdem Soylemez, Founder and Director of ES Akademi, Turkey. The title of his talk was: New Trends in Education.

17 teachers from different regions gave presentations and workshops on different aspects of teaching and learning process. Teaching Grammar and Vocabulary through Games, Reading Comprehension Graphic Organizers, Psychological Education, Changing Behaviour, Grammar in Activities, etc. were among the topics of the workshops.

95 teachers from different regions, including, Astara, Baku, Barda, Ganja, Goygol, Ismayilli, Lenkaran, Mingechevir, Qazakh, Sheki attended the Conference.

The Conference was organised with the organisational support of the Ministry of Education and Goygol Region Executive Power. Conference partners were Education Department of Goygol and School #1 in Goygol.

With this Conference, AzETA wrote a new success story to its history.
