AzETA held its 12th Regional Conference of Teachers titled “Teach from the Heart, not from the Book” in Minghechevir on 25 March 2017. 75 members of AzETA from Astara, Baku, Barda, Ganja, Goygol, Ismayilli, Khachmaz, Lenkaran, Mingechevir, Sheki, and Shirvan attended the Conference. The plenary speaker of theConference was Dr Erdem Soylemez, Education Expert of Turkey. He gave a talk on teacher-parent relations.

There were 15 presenters who gave presentations on different topics, including, “Activate Games for Learning English! Where to Find Them and How to Use Them”, “Teaching English through Dialogues”, “Why Boys and Girls Learn Differently”, “Importance of Role Models in Student Achievement”, “Activities to Impact on Learner Motivation”, etc.

At the opening Gulnaz Hajiyeva, AzETA Mingechevir Branch Manager welcomed the guests and gave brief information about the Branch activities.

Her opening remarks were followed by a role-play ontraditional and contemporary English Language Teaching by secondary students of different schools of Mingechevir involved in the Branch projects.

After the performance, Ragsana Mammadova, AzETA Founder and President made opening remarks, thanked presenters and participants, especially, those who made a long way to join the Conference.

Shafagat Rasulov, Education Expert fromIsmayilli, had opening remarks and highlighted AzETA’s great work and contribution to education in Azerbaijan.

After the opening remarks students benefitting from differentAzETA projects for learners had an entertainment programme to demonstrate their skills gained through these projects.

The conference continued its work through concurrent sessions where teachers of different subjects gave presentations in English and Azerbaijani on different aspect of teaching and learning process in the 21st century.
